Professional Background

Tom Duensing was admitted to the California Bar and Nevada Bar in 2019 and began working at Taggart & Taggart the same year.  Tom received his Juris Doctor degree from Golden Gate University School of Law of San Francisco in 2015.  During his time at Golden Gate University School of Law Tom received the Witkin Award for Academic excellence multiple times and had various internships involving pro-bono eviction defense.   Tom grew up in Northern California and now lives in Carson City, Nevada.  He enjoys spending holidays and vacations with family in Palm Springs, California.

Water Rights and Natural Resources

Tom is focusing his legal experience in water rights matters.  He has been involved in several hearings before the Nevada State Engineer which included preparing witnesses for testimony, developing opening and closing arguments, and preparing evidentiary submissions.  Tom has also worked on cases involving stockwater rights on federal and state range lands.  Tom has provided research and support on issues related to inter-basin transfers of water and other regulatory issues with the Division of Water Resources.

Litigation/General

Tom assists clients in all aspects of litigation involving water rights and real estate transactions at both the trial court and appellate court levels. He has also assisted clients in estate planning, family law matters, and various regulatory issues.

Other Interests

His interests include golfing, hiking, cinema, and supporting his local sports teams.
