Evan Champa has been an associate attorney at Taggart & Taggart since 2016, working primarily in the areas of water law and real property. Before embarking on a legal career, Mr. Champa worked as a hydrogeologist and exploration geologist in northern Nevada. This experience provided him with a working understanding of the complexities associated with geologic and hydrogeological conditions within Nevada. Taking these earth sciences and coupling them with the law, Mr. Champa is able to present complex issues clearly and concisely. He also takes pride in his diligent and effective research for each case. These unique skills prove invaluable when drafting motions and briefs or when assisting in complex litigation or administrative proceedings.
Mr. Champa was admitted to the State Bar of Nevada in 2016.
Mr. Champa received his JD from Willamette University College of Law with a certificate in Sustainable Environmental, Energy & Resources Law in 2015. While attending Willamette, he was also the Executive Editor for the Environmental Law Review.
Mr. Champa received his BS in Hydrogeology from the University of Nevada, Reno, Mackay School of Earth Sciences and Engineering in 2007.
His interests include cooking, BBQ, woodworking, restoring classic cars, fly fishing, hunting, camping, snowboarding/skiing/snowmobiling, lacrosse, and spending time with his family.
He is also a member of the Nevada Water Resources Association and the Geographic Society of Nevada.
